For Immediate Release Date Set for Concert2Cure: A Concert to Benefit the American Cancer Society ATLANTA: December 1, 2000 - Atlanta businessman, David Baumgarten and the American Cancer Society are organizing a benefit concert called Concert2Cure. "One of the reasons I am alive today is because of work done by volunteers and contributors to American Cancer Society. Now that I can, it's my turn to give back," says Baumgarten. The concert will be held at the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta on March 3, 2001. The Tabernacle, which holds 2,500 patrons, has graciously donated the use of the facility for the concert. The time schedule is from late afternoon to around midnight. Confirmed musical guests include GuruFish, Theodis Ealey, The Breeze Kings and DueWest, but there will be many other groups to perform a variety of musical styles including blues, jazz, swing, funk and R&B. Public relations firms, TV and radio stations, newspapers, magazines and other media can help us make this show successful by spreading the news of the concert as March 3rd draws near. Concert2Cure would like your help to publicize the event. TV and radio public service announcements, print advertising, billboards, merchandising, banners and posters would be of great benefit to us all. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 1.2 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Mr. Baumgarten says, "This will be a community musical event and a perfect forum to bridge gaps between people of all ages and cultures cancer effects us all. What better way is there to celebrate the richness of life than to share music, dance and laughter with friends." |
