For August hit the public consciousness and the airwaves in 1997
with their Warner Bros. Debut album, Grand World. The album spawned
two Top 20 Rock Radio hits, "Don't Wanna Be Here" and "Walk Away",
wowing critics and audiences alike.
After the release of Grand World, the band embarked on over a
year of steady touring, including a total of four months supporting
matchbox twenty and a month and a half supporting Creed.
Now based in Atlanta, the band has recently stepped up its lineup
with new drummer Larry Voss and multi-instrumentalist Chris Harris
joining Vaughn, guitarist Trevor Kustiak, and bass player Andrew
Shives. The direction of this new collaboration has evolved from
the multiple-track power chords of Grand World toward the synth
realm of guitar effect, loops and progressive drum styles. However,
the band's unwavering commitment to passion and scale in their
music remains clear.
